Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian actress. She made her screen debut through the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic and was the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for the Best actress. The actress is fluent in French, German and English. Her mother played the violin while her father was a the theater professor at one of Romania's most prestigious drama schools. The young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. She received the honor of being named European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in the year 2008. Apart from her stellar performance in her first film, the actress will always be remembered by her work in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 weeks, 2 days, which garnered her numerous distinctions including the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si 2 zile (4 Three Weeks 4 Months 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. It won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Also, she appeared as an infant in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. She played Yasim Awar in BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca was a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. Later, she had a major role in the 2014 film Fury in which she played an German woman named Irma aunt of Emma.
